Questions to Ask an Aluminium Scaffolding Supplier in Dubai

Before you hire an aluminium scaffolding supplier in Dubai, ask ten things: what tower sizes they stock, when the equipment was last inspected, whether towers come complete with safety parts, the safe working load, delivery time to your site, assembly support, rental terms, damage terms, extra stock at short notice, and references. The answers tell you more about a supplier than any ranking list, and they take five minutes on the phone.

This checklist is written for contractors, facility managers and site supervisors comparing aluminium scaffolding suppliers in Dubai for maintenance, fit-out and construction work.

1. Which tower sizes and working heights do you have in stock?

Start with the job, not the price. A narrow tower fits corridors, stairwells and tight indoor spaces, a single width tower suits most maintenance and fit-out work, and a double width tower gives a larger platform for two workers and more materials. Ask which heights are available today, not just which the supplier “can arrange”.

2. When was the equipment last inspected, and can I see the record?

A good supplier inspects every tower between hires and can tell you when it was last checked. Ask what they look for: bent or cracked frames, worn locking pins, damaged platforms and castors that do not lock. If they cannot answer, inspect it yourself on delivery using our 12-step scaffolding inspection checklist.

3. Does each tower come complete with guardrails, toe boards, outriggers and locking castors?

Some quotes look cheaper because safety components are charged separately or left out. Confirm that the price includes everything needed to use the tower safely at the height you need, including stabilisers or outriggers for taller builds.

4. What is the safe working load of each platform?

Every platform has a maximum load for people, tools and materials together. Ask for the figure in writing and check it against your crew size and equipment. Overloading is one of the most common causes of scaffold accidents.

5. How quickly can you deliver to my site, and do you cover my area?

Delivery time matters more than most people expect, because a late tower stops the whole crew. Ask for a realistic delivery window to your exact location, whether that is a villa in Al Barsha, a tower in Business Bay or a warehouse in Dubai Industrial City, and whether same-day delivery is possible.

6. Do you help with assembly, or provide instructions for my team?

Aluminium towers are designed to be assembled quickly, but only by people who know the correct sequence. Ask whether the supplier can assemble the first tower, show your team how, or at least supply the manufacturer’s instructions. Our step-by-step setup guide covers the basics.

7. What is the minimum rental period, and how is the price calculated?

Suppliers price by the day, week or month, and the cheapest daily rate is not always the cheapest job. Ask for the total for your expected duration, what happens if the job runs over, and whether delivery and collection are included.

8. What happens if a part is damaged or goes missing?

Agree this before delivery, not after collection. Ask how damage is assessed and what replacement parts cost, and take photos of the equipment when it arrives on site.

9. Can you supply extra towers at short notice if the job grows?

Projects change. A supplier with real stock in Dubai can add a tower in a day; one that sub-hires from someone else may take a week. Ask how many units they hold of the size you need.

10. Can you share references from similar projects?

Ask for one or two recent jobs similar to yours, such as facade maintenance, MEP installation or interior fit-out, and if possible a contact who can confirm the service.

Red flags when comparing scaffolding suppliers

  • No clear answer on when the equipment was last inspected
  • Guardrails, toe boards or outriggers quoted as optional extras
  • No written safe working load for the platform
  • Vague delivery times (“sometime tomorrow”)
  • Prices that change once the tower is on site
